The Cherry Red Band
At the Overpass Bar (12/03/2005)

Cherry Red is a five piece variety dance band that has been around the area for quite some time spreading good times, good cheers and lots of great tunes. Leader Deb Cochran has had several line-ups in the past, but has settled over the past year or two with the following members to form one fine rock group.

Deb sings, plays keyboards and has her hands in lots of percussion instruments too.

Then you have a long time member Eric Pine that plays awesome rhythm & lead guitar and sings a few him self. Next to him you have Curt Scramlin that sings, plays keyboards, harmonica and guitar.

In the back you have John Scott on drums. John is one of the best drummers I’ve know. And finally, a long time friend, Randy Urchick on bass guitar and vocals. I was out on 12/03/2005 and caught their show at the Overpass Bar in Bay County, Michigan.

It’s been a while since I’ve had the chance to catch the Cherry Red show so I got to hear a lot of new songs that they have picked up, that I have not heard in years.

One of my favorite lines I hear Deb say is, “Thank you for flying Cherry Red.” And they had me flying about 30,000 feet high. Not to mention they got me up to jam with the guys. That was a lot of fun for me, especially since I am always playing with my own band. It’s hard to get out when you are always working!

Another thing I want to tell you is Deb and the gang is forever helping out in benefits that we either host or are involved with and they are always a big help raising money for these needed causes. If you get a chance to catch The Cherry Red Band, .. you won’t be sorry. You can see their web page at the following link, along with plenty of pictures.
